Meet your instructor
Ryan D'agostino
Ryan enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2012 as an Infantry Rifleman and served in 1/6. A couple years later he attended “indoc” and became a member of the 1/6 Scout Sniper Platoon, eventually transferring to 3/8 Scout Sniper Platoon. The time spent in the STA (Surveillance & Target Acquisition) Platoons is where he learned to develop a love for the art of precision rifle shooting.
Upon exiting service in 2016, he spent several years taking advantage of every opportunity that crossed his path from K9 Handler School, contracting, and firearms instruction. In 2022, he began to really gain entry into the firearms instructor world where he landed his first full-time instructor position with Achilles Heel Tactical. During that time, he traveled the country teaching pistol and carbine, while simultaneously designing curriculum for Precision Rifle and Scoped Carbine, which later led to him becoming Lead Instructor with those courses.
In 2023 he found employment with Modern Day Sniper as their first full time employee and again found himself traveling the country training Snipers and civilians. He assisted in the instruction of foreign Special Operations Forces and became Lead Instructor for the Law Enforcement Sniper Program. While with Modern Day, Ryan was also contracted by LMT to represent them in trials as their designated shooter for certain Program of Record weapons testing.
Upon leaving Modern Day, Ryan began working full-time at Knight’s Armament conducting government contract related work and weapons testing. While balancing his day job with his desire to continue teaching and training, he founded Emissary Consulting LLC to pursue his passion. Through Emissary, Ryan is able to continue spreading the good word with MIL/LE teams and responsibly armed citizens alike. Ryan secures his relevancy by constantly seeking further knowledge and honoring his commitment to being a life-long student of the craft. He’s recently become an avid competitor and continues to seek training from external sources to broaden his knowledge base.
